Visit to Croke Park

The camogie and the football team got a lovely treat last Monday were taken on a trip to Croke Park.

Croke Park is the home of the GAA and has a fantastic museum and stadium tour. Our tour guide was a very knowledgeable man named Cian. He told us lots of interesting things about the history of this magnificent stadium.

Cian even brought us into the dressing rooms where all the GAA stars (and music stars like One Direction) get ready before coming out onto the pitch. He put on a recording of 80,000 screaming fans so that we could get a real feel of what it would be like to perform at the highest level.

We were brought up to the Hogan Stand where the winning teams receive their trophies. We imagined what it would feel like to win a cup while playing for Cavan.

Outside the museum we had a chance to find our local club crest .

We had a fantastic day and the teachers would like to thank all the children for putting in a hard year's work training and playing with the school teams. You always behaved in a way that was a credit to yourselves, your families and to your school.

Many Thanks,
Mr. Arkins, Ms. Brady, Mr. Gurhy and Mr. Walsh.
